Schuman Financial today announced a native integration of its MiCA-compliant euro stablecoin EURØP onto the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This marks a major step toward bringing compliant euro-denominated stablecoins into active use on one of the world’s most widely used blockchains.

As blockchain-based finance becomes more widespread, the need for fast, reliable, and compliant on-chain euro grows stronger. While USD-backed stablecoins have dominated the market, there has been a noticeable absence of euro-native options. That’s where the EURØP euro stablecoin comes in.

The Trump administration’s economic policies are creating a major opening for the global comeback of European finance… at least theoretically. With every passing day, investors are increasingly asking themselves whether it still makes sense to believe in the mighty US dollar. For those losing faith, one obvious replacement should be the euro. After all, it is already the second largest reserve currency, while Europe is the second largest financial market in the world.

One year ago, when we started putting together the vision for Schuman Financial, we collectively realised the exciting opportunity ahead of us. We have the chance to remake the way European money moves, and it all starts with a solid euro stablecoin. The European Union has always stood for the free movement of goods, services, people, and capital, but cross-border transfers and lack of interoperability feel like relics of another century.

During this year’s World Economic Forum in Davos, one of the three main themes, besides AI and Trump, that dominated the event was “peak pessimism on Europe.” The argument was familiar: Europe is stagnating, unable to compete, and slowly turning into a museum.

A few years ago, while I was managing the European operations at the world’s largest company in the digital asset space, Binance, I raised a simple problem with my colleagues: “Europe is a market of roughly half a billion people, and basically every one of them only uses euros in their daily life. So when we run our marketing promotions, like trading discounts and vouchers, how come we offer them in dollars?”
