Schuman Financial Joins Plexo’s Founding Cohort to Bring Regulated Euro Rails to Global Stablecoin Payments
Paris, 1 September 2026 — Schuman Financial has joined the founding cohort of Plexo, the coordination network for institutional stablecoin clearing, alongside Hercle, TradeVu, Echo Money, Kii Global, Zynta, Zuba and 18 other licensed financial institutions.
Together, the 25 founding members span 75 markets across Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe, bringing together on- and off-ramp providers, payment aggregators, remittance companies and other regulated financial institutions.
Schuman Financial joins the network as a regulated provider of euro-denominated stablecoin infrastructure, bringing EURØP and access to European euro rails into the Plexo ecosystem.
Stablecoins have made moving value across borders faster and more efficient. The infrastructure around them remains fragmented. Entering a new corridor still means finding the right regulated counterparty, conducting due diligence, aligning compliance processes and integrating new infrastructure. Plexo is building a network to simplify that process.
“Stablecoins already give us the technology to move money globally and in real time. What is still missing is the infrastructure connecting regulated financial institutions across markets,” said Martin Bruncko, Co-Founder and CEO of Schuman Financial. “Plexo is tackling that coordination problem. Bringing together institutions with strong local capabilities across 75 markets is a powerful starting point. For Schuman, our role is to make sure regulated euro infrastructure is part of that network from the beginning.”
Connecting the euro to more global corridors
EURØP is Schuman Financial’s MiCA-compliant euro stablecoin, issued by its French-regulated electronic money institution and built for payments, settlement and on-chain financial services. Through Schuman’s infrastructure, qualified businesses and financial institutions can move between traditional euro banking rails and EURØP, enabling euro-denominated value to move on-chain and across borders 24/7.
The partnership with Plexo extends that infrastructure into a broader network of regulated financial institutions with different geographic footprints, licences and payment capabilities.
Founding members including Hercle, TradeVu, Echo Money, Kii Global, Zynta and Zuba bring their own strengths, markets and corridors to the network. Schuman adds regulated euro issuance and settlement infrastructure.
Instead of every institution building every corridor independently, members can connect complementary capabilities.
A financial institution providing the originating leg in one market can work with another providing the destination leg, while Schuman can provide the regulated euro component where required.
For Schuman, this creates another route for EURØP to be used in real-world international payment flows. For institutions joining Plexo, it adds access to a regulated euro-native settlement asset and European financial infrastructure.
Building the layer between institutions
The technology for moving stablecoins already exists.
What remains difficult is everything that happens between the institutions moving them.
Financial institutions still need to identify suitable counterparties, exchange compliance documentation, understand available corridors and establish how transactions will be executed.
Plexo is designed as the coordination layer between them.
Members complete a compliance profile covering information such as licences, incorporation documents and beneficial ownership. Institutions remain responsible for reviewing and approving their counterparties, while settlement takes place directly between the participating institutions.
The network is also issuer- and chain-neutral. Participants can continue using the stablecoins and blockchain infrastructure suited to their existing operations rather than being required to move into a single closed ecosystem.
This distinction matters.
No single provider will cover every currency, jurisdiction, stablecoin or payment corridor globally. Licences, liquidity, banking access and local expertise are distributed across many different institutions.
Connecting those institutions is therefore a more scalable model than asking each one to recreate the entire global payment stack itself.
A network spanning 75 markets
Plexo’s founding cohort already consists of 25 licensed institutions collectively covering 75 markets across Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe.
The group includes Schuman Financial, Hercle, TradeVu, Echo Money, Kii Global, Zynta and Zuba, alongside 18 additional licensed institutions.
Each brings different local infrastructure and capabilities.
As the network develops, this creates the potential for institutions to access new corridors through qualified counterparties without rebuilding the same commercial, compliance and operational relationships from scratch for every market.
For Schuman, it also means connecting regulated euro infrastructure with a wider network of institutions operating beyond Europe.
This is particularly important as cross-border payments emerge as one of the clearest institutional use cases for stablecoins.
The market is becoming increasingly global, but also increasingly fragmented across currencies, issuers, chains, local payment systems and regulatory frameworks.
Making those systems interoperable is the next challenge.
By joining Plexo’s founding cohort, Schuman Financial will work alongside the other participating institutions to expand regulated payment corridors and make euro-denominated stablecoin settlement available across a wider global network.
The goal is simple: wherever stablecoins are being used to move money globally, the euro should be part of the infrastructure.
About Plexo
Plexo builds the coordination network for institutional stablecoin clearing. It helps regulated financial institutions structure shared compliance evidence, find executable counterparties and coordinate cross-border deal flow across existing rails.
Institutions retain their own approval obligations and settle directly through licensed providers. Plexo operates as a coordination layer and does not hold, transmit, convert, execute or settle funds.
